I was just awarded vExpert 2016 for my expertise around VMware’s solutions for cloud native infrastructure, good news just before VMworld US!
With Photon Platform and vSphere Integrated Containers ramping up to GA, we’ll likely see a lot more traction and adoption of these technologies with customers.
Earlier this year, together with Martijn Baecke and Jan-Willem Lammers (both VMware), I presented a fireside chat for the Dutch VMUG UserCon - the largest worldwide with attendance of 1000+.
It’s been 5 months since we released the first version of the vCenter Orchestrator API Explorer. Because people seem happy with it (we see a steady stream of feedback and returning users), we continue to improve the tool.
These days I’m working at a client creating workflows for their state of the art private cloud platform. It’s really quite nice: internal clients can use a webportal to request machines, which are then customized with Puppet runs and workflows to install additional software and perform custom tasks like registering the machine in a CMDB.
Note: This post is outdated: while the concepts are still the same, deploying CF has become much more easy over the last years, so don’t use this text to do an actual deployment unless you want to deploy like it’s 2015.
